Firmly established as one of Europe’s foremost early music courses, BAROQUE WEEK is now celebrating its 40th year. The course offers inspiration and guidance to both singers and players of baroque music from an expert team of leading specialists in historical performance style.

This year’s theme is “Rameau’s Revolution”. In 1733 Rameau entered the field of opera unleashing a storm of controversy which polarised opinion between the “Lullyists” and the “Rameauneurs”. In our tutor-led projects we will explore music from the time of Lully through to Rameau focusing on excerpts from Les Indes Galantes.

Tutors: Theresa Caudle (Artistic Director), Ann Allen, Amanda Babington, Christopher Bucknall, Satoko Doi-Luck, Jane Francis, Rachel Latham .
